Behind the Scenes

Oh. Yes. Over here!

Now I’ve got your attention… Hello!

I’m La Chascona, but please – call me Tash. Everyone else does.

Well! A year ago I was trying to figure out life outside of the soothing embrace of university. Now, I’m thinking I seriously didn’t value that lifestyle enough… but hey, I’m working in the field I love, so I’ve got nothing to complain about. This chica is a copy editor and features writer for five, count ’em, five magazines. By day I delve into bridal and home and holiday land, by night I delve into terrible TV land (and the occasional blog post. You’re welcome).

My hobbies outside of the writing world still remain much the same. I fling myself in awkward positions to read books and foodie magazines. I live in Photoshop land (it’s an addiction). I draw people and faces and Disney characters. I spend far too much time trawling through Facebook and Tumblr and all those good things. And yes, I still have to tell myself that the can of caramel in the fridge doesn’t exist, and that I really don’t need to eat more of it.

I’m a Christian, saved by Jesus Christ, and am growing in Him every day. I love the colour red, the smell of coffee, and Downton Abbey.

Okay, that’s all well and good. But why are you writing?

Well, it’s what writers do. We write whenever we can. (At least, that’s what I’ve been told. Correct me if I’m wrong.)

I also want to create – it’s what I was made to do.

Last year, I wanted to document the firsts. First job, first year living out of home and first year trying to successfully be an adult.

I survived, and the blog continues. This year, it’s going to be Things That Take My Fancy – be it weddings or food, fashion or homes, or a post paying homage my Lord.

Also, there’ll be plenty of documenting The Year of the Blog (otherwise known as The Year In Which I Take My Fledgling Steps Into Running My Own Gig).

You know what? Come prepared for anything and everything.

Enjoy the words, enjoy the pictures, and drop me a line from time to time so I feel a little bit of love.
